3G fixed wireless terminal (FWT) enables users to gain access to high-speed broadband, phone and fax services without being limited by the availability of a wired infrastructure.
The unit is not limited to the GSM network, and offers wireless users voice, fax and broadband internet communication via the 3G HSDPA network.
Maximum download speed is currently 3.6 Mbps; however this will increase to 7.2 Mbps once the 3G network is upgraded. Quad-band frequency support (850/900/1900/2100 MHz) ensures that the unit is compatible with frequencies used on different continents around the world.
Connection to a computer is via the unit's ethernet, Wi-Fi or USB ports. A single terminal provides simultaneous internet access for numerous users.
The device routes all calls over the mobile network, with all usage billed at mobile rates. If the 3G network is not available, the unit will switch to operating over the GSM network.
